European Coatings SHOW and CONGRESS 2015:
The Coatings World is Coming Together in Nuremberg
The international coatings world is coming together once again in mid-April 2015 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre for the European Coatings CONGRESS and European Coatings SHOW, the sector's events for paints, coatings, sealants, adhesives, printing inks formulators, construction chemicals products, raw materials suppliers and industrial suppliers. The organizers are currently registering a double-figure increase in the number of registrations compared to the levels at the last SHOW. With 144 lectures in 24 sessions, the European Coatings CONGRESS is underlining its position as the largest congress event on the theme of paints and coatings in Europe. Interested parties can register as of now.
The SHOW and CONGRESS are again being held parallel to each other: the exhibition is being held from 21st to 23rd April, while the sector will already come together on 20th and 21st April 2015 for the Congress. The European Coatings SHOW covers all the processes in paints, coatings and coatings production. Visitors can expect a comprehensive market overview structured according to the following exhibition segments:
• Raw materials and services
• Test and measuring technology, laboratory and production technology along with the associated services
In addition to the know-how in paints and coatings manufacture, the production facilities are also of decisive significance for the product quality. That is why the paints and coatings manufacturers are increasingly banking on fully-automated solutions. It is not possible to make a general statement as to when their application will pay off compared to partly automated solutions - the requirements placed on the production of various paint and coatings types are too diverse. Ultimately, every purchasing decision is based on highly individual requirement profiles, which necessitates thorough market research. Right at the heart of the exhibition activity, the European Coatings SHOW in Halls 5 and 6 will be providing a comprehensive presentation of the production, test and measuring technology market. "For us, the developers and manufacturers of highly innovative dispersion systems for the laboratory, technical applications laboratory and production sector, the European Coatings SHOW has been a key component of our marketing concept since its premiere in 1991. As a world leading fair it enables us to not only be in intensive contact with our international customers, but also provides us with direct feedback on our future-orientated new products", emphasises Martin Getzmann, managing partner at VMA-Getzmann GmbH, and one of the original exhibitors at the event.
China is playing an increasingly important role in the international paints and coatings market - this is also reflected by the registration figures for the European Coatings SHOW: around 150 exhibitors will be participating within the framework of the Chinese pavilion. In this connection they will be dominated primarily by the raw materials suppliers from the Middle Kingdom.

European Coatings CONGRESS: specialist know-how encapsulated
The highlights of the Congress program include the opening keynote speech for the Plenary Session delivered by Prof. Rolf Mülhaupt, Freiburg Materials Research Centre FMF, University of Freiburg. His paper entitled "Green polymer chemistry" will provide answers to the question as to why "organic" is not always "green" and will show us what sustainable development in terms of economical resources as well as what the use of recyclable substances and carbon dioxide fixation in the area of coatings and polymer applications will look like. Other lecturers will be covering, amongst others, themes on paints and coatings formulations, printing inks, adhesives and sealants along with construction chemicals.New in 2015: the Plenary Session will be streamed live on the European Coatings CONGRESS website. As a result, interested parties unable to attend the event itself will also be able to participate. Anyone who wants to be present in Nuremberg can now already register on the European Coatings CONGRESS website.
Practically-relevant introduction: pre-congress tutorials
Participants in the exclusive pre-congress tutorials will be provided with more extensive information on paint and coating-specific themes. Even before the start of the European Coatings CONGRESS, on 19th April 2015, ten experienced experts from industry and research will be imparting their specialist know-how in this field. Among the themes on the agenda will be anti-corrosion coatings, decorative paints and also tips on correct design of experiments.
