In 2015, the E-wolrd Congress
Will Focus on the Future of European Energy Generation
The future of the European energy market will be the central subject at the E-world Congress 2015. Parallel to the premier European fair E-world energy & water, international experts from 
the political and economic fields will discuss current challenges in the sector at Messe Essen. Around 30 conferences will be on the agenda from February 9 to 12, 2015. The main subjects will be the procurement, generation and marketing of energy as well as the associated services. The speakers will include high-ranking representatives of the international energy industry as well as representatives of the EU Commission and of interest groups.
Top-Class Speakers in the Congress Programme
How must the strategic points be set for Europe's energy future? Answers will be given by the "Executive Meeting Energy" in cooperation with the german daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung on the day before E-world 2015 (February 9, 2015). The lecture programme will be characterised by both these subjects: "European Energy Policy: Strengthened out of the Crisis?" as well as "Future of the Energy Industry: The Reform of the Energy Market". The speakers will include Rainer Baake, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy; Jochen Homann, President of Bundesnetzagentur ("Federal Network Agency for Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications, Post and Railway"); Johannes Kempmann, President of Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft e. V. (BDEW - "German Association of Energy and Water Industries"); and Dr. Arndt Neuhaus, Chairman of the Board of RWE Deutschland AG.
On the first day of E-world (February 10, 2015), EnergieAgentur.NRW ("EnergyAgency.NRW") will stage the 
19th specialist congress entitled "Future Energies" in cooperation with the clusters called EnergieRegion.NRW ("EnergyRegion.NRW") and EnergieForschung.NRW ("EnergyResearch.NRW"). Topical specialist subjects from the field of future energies will be on the agenda at the all-day specialist congress. After the opening by Johannes Remmel (North Rhine-Westphalia Minister for Climate Protection), the plenary session in the morning willoffer lectures about trends, markets and new developments. Five parallel forums will take place in the afternoon.
After its successful premiere in 2014, the conference entitled "European Power Market" will go into round two at E-world 2015. On February 10, 2015, it will focus on the subject of capacity markets. The speakers will include high-ranking representatives of the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET), BDEW and Verband der Chemischen Industrie (VCI - "German Chemical Industry Association"). The lecture delivered by Dr. Walter Steinmann, Director of Bundesamt für Energie (BFE - "Federal Office of Energy") in Switzerland on the subject of the future role of Switzerland in the European power market should also arouse great interest.
The "International Gas Market" will be the subject at the conference bearing the same name on the second day of the fair (February 11, 2014). International experts from China, England, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the USA will discuss solution approaches for the globalised gas market and will examine the current discussion about shale gas and the institutional framework of the international gas trade. The speakers will include Gareth Griffiths, Global Head of Power, Gas, Carbon Trading at the Noble Group in London, as well as Dr. Patrick Ho, Secretary General of the Hong Kong think-tank called the China Energy Fund Committee.
The conference entitled "Energy Suppliers in Changing Times - New Concepts
and Solutions for Successful Customer Communication" will also take place on the second day of the fair. Communication experts from ENTEGA, ene't, Daimler, Google, RWE and specialised agencies will pass on their experience at first hand - from the development of online strategies to the utilisation of social media. Amongst other highlights, it will be explained how price rises can be communicated and why a corporate blog is the better Facebook.
The "Innovation Congress" at E-world will be dedicated to topical megatrends such as smart grids, span data management as well as the intelligent utilisation of energy by the Internet of Things. On February 11 and 12, 2015, the conference staged by the innovation magazine called Technology Review will show new business models for technologies and services in the age of smart energy. The speakers will include representatives of Deutsche Telekom AG, the E.on Research Center at the RWTH Aachen University and Fraunhofer AISEC ("Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security"). More than 100 participants will be expected.
The scientific conference entitled "SmartER Europe" on February 12, 2015 will concentrate on methods and concepts for intelligent energy supply and transmission as well as for market modelling. After the success of its premiere in 2014, the interdisciplinary forum will take place at E-world for the second time and, in this respect, will combine technical, economic and information technology aspects of thenew energy world. A call for papers has been published in advance of the conference. The submission deadline will be November 2, 2014.
