records excellent number of bookings
The preparations for the 36th IDS - International Dental Show - are in full swing, six months before the beginning of the event. More than 1,800 exhibitors from 53 countries have signed up for the IDS already. Moreover, sign up figures are eight percent higher than they were at the same period during the previous event. More and more applications and enquiries are being submitted every day. International demand in particular is higher compared to two years ago. That's why the halls of the Cologne trade fair grounds with a gross exhibition space of over 150,000 square metres are already jam-packed. From 10-14 March 2015, a total of more than 2,000 companies from around the world will be expected in Cologne, including all international market leaders. The GFDI - Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI), and Koelnmesse have commented in a joint statement: "The excellent interim result already promises that the success story of the International Dental Show will continue. The position of the IDS as the leading international business and communication platform for the entire international dental sector is thus being impressively underlined." The high level of foreign participation will be demonstrated by numerous companies from the USA, Italy, Switzerland, France, The UK, Korea, The Netherlands, Japan, Israel, Spain and Brazil, among others. First-time exhibitors come from around the world - there is growth particularly in Italy, the USA, Korea, Switzerland, France, and The UK.
Visitors can learn all about the range of exhibits at the event before it takes place, so that they can optimally plan their visit to the trade fair. From the start of October 2014, the online exhibitor search will be accessible via the IDS website. In addition, other digital services are available, including our very own IDS app for iPhone, Android and Blackberry, in order to ensure targeted trade fair preparations and so that you can get the best out of your visit. This app, which will be offered to users free of charge, does not only include the catalogue.
Thanks to an innovative navigation system, it guides visitors unerringly through the halls to the relevant trade fair stands. Yet another digital service available is Business Matchmaking 365, a communication and business platform which as of January 2015 - well before the start of the IDS - will enable visitors and exhibitors to get into direct contact with each other. In the run-up to the event, visitors can also e-mail exhibitors via the online schedule planner to request meetings, while the online route planner compiles a personalised visit plan, including an optimal route through the trade fair halls.
IDS takes place in Cologne every two years and is organised by the GFDI Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI) and staged by Koelnmesse GmbH, Cologne.
