Powered by TCT Supports Study on Additive Technologies
Within the scope of the formnext exhibition, Mesago Messe Frankfurt is supporting the joint study entitled "Facing the Future: Additive Manufacturing - Second Round".
The aim of this study is to identify future trends in additive production processes, strengthen the capacity for innovation in this area, and at the same time make recommendations about how industrial companies can integrate the new technologies effectively into their production processes. Leading international industrial companies as well as research experts like the Fraunhofer Institute and research units at RWTH Aachen University are all participating in the study.
"Knowledge about the developments and opportunities in additive production processes helps us enormously to shape formnext into a leading industry exhibition and establish it on the market. Beyond the exhibition, we also want to support the integration of these fascinating technologies with outstanding prospects for the future into the manufacturing industry," says Sascha Wenzler, division manager for formnext at Mesago, outlining the company's commitment.
Benefits for the Industry
The study on generative production processes embarks on a second phase in March 2015 under the guidance of the technology and market information service provider KEX Knowledge Exchange AG. Even during its first phase in September 2014, the study managed to attract over 40 participating industrial companies. In this second phase, "Facing the Future: Additive Manufacturing" examines the areas of productivity, process quality, components, and materials. The results are particularly beneficial to the automotive, aerospace, electrical and medical technology, energy technology, and consumer goods sectors of industry.
