Focus on Smart City
Designing cities to be more efficient, technologically more advanced and more sustainable is one of the main challenges of the next years, and offers diverse opportunities for the international energy industry. As the leading fair, E-world energy & water 2018 will therefore focus on the topic of smart city - with the objective of extending the future fields of the sector: At E-world energy & water which will take place at Messe Essen from February 6 to 8, established companies as well as start-ups will present themselves to the expert world.
E-world is continuing even further on its course for growth and innovation. In 2017, it registered a record with 710 exhibitors and around 25,000 international trade visitors. Nearly 20 percent of these exhibitors were companies from the field of smart energy; moreover, a large number of young companies, universities, research institutes and start-ups presented their products and services on the joint "E-world Innovation" area. A lot of companies have already booked their booths for 2018 - including innogy, E.ON, Shell, Bosch, Engie, Siemens and Veolia.
Intelligent Solutions for the City of the Future
Advancing digitisation will change cities and metropolitan areas forever: The focus will be on integrating heat and power, efficient buildings and electric transport into one flexible, optimised and intelligent system. For the presentation of intelligent solutions to these challenges, for the first time E-world 2018 is placing special emphasis on the specific topic: "Smart City".There will be a varied supporting programme on all aspects of the four main topics: transport, heating, grids and buildings. In numerous lectures and discussions, international projects and initiatives for intelligent city planning will be presented and specific approaches to solutions discussed. The existing Energy Transition, Smart Tech and Innovation forums will be supplemented by the Finance & Trading forum.
Trade Fair Promotes Young Companies in a Targeted Way
The constantly growing number of international exhibitors and a trade visitorproportion of over 98 percent will emphasise the high level of the leading fair andits significance as an information platform for the energy sector. At E-world,established companies as well as start-ups will present their innovative solutions -for example, technologies for intelligent energy transmission, storage and theintegration and networking of prosumers. The fair will also focus on supportingyoung companies. The "E-world Innovation" exhibition area will offer companyfounders the opportunity to establish important contacts to investors andrepresentatives of industry: 77 percent of the trade visitors will be decisiontakers.
