Dream Trips at
CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF 2014
The Dream Trip Cinema at CARAVAN Düsseldorf (30 August until 7 September 2014) has become a true institution over the years. Every year audiences rave about the spectacular images and breathtaking impressions. The members of our dream trip trio, Konstantin Abert, Janette Emerich and Uwe Hamm, have put together yet another exciting programme for this year. In seven daily multi-vision shows they report about fascinating caravanning adventures in foreign countries. CARAVAN SALON visitors may look forward to the Pan-American Highway and the Silk Road, learn about Australia and New Zealand, accompany the presenters to Iceland and the Faroe Islands and through Mainland Southeast Asia.
The multi-vision shows run daily from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm every hour at the Dream Trip Cinema (outdoors / pavilion between Halls 16 and 10). Admission to the shows is included in the CARAVAN SALON ticket.

Pan-American Highway -
Travelling across America from South to North
Jeanette Emerich and Uwe Hamm present a very exciting tour. It invites visitors to travel across North and South America on the Pan-American Highway and experience nearly all landscapes and vegetation types existing in the world. The tour starts in Tierra del Fuego and ends at the icy ocean in Alaska. In between there are the blue glaciers of Patagonia, the sand dunes of the Atacama Desert, the heady heights of the Andean passes with altitudes exceeding 4,000 metres, endless plains and the fascinating fauna of tropical rainforests. Other highlights of the show include impressive Maya ruins, exotic Indian markets, vibrant cities and palm-lined beaches. During their two-part show, the two American experts invite visitors on a trip that caters to all their senses. There is no other highway in the world that shows the variety our planet has to offer in a more impressive way.
Iceland & Faroe Islands -
A Dream of Fire and Ice
"A Dream of Fire and Ice" showcases two fascinating countries in northern Europe. Janette Emerich and Uwe Hamm take the visitors of CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF on a trip through Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
Their adventure leads them from Iceland's untamed nature with its mighty waterfalls, lava deserts, hot springs and Europe's largest glacier, which enthuses all nature lovers, to the Faroe Islands, a green jewel in the middle of the Atlantic, which is home to more sheep than people. The audience can virtually feel the steam coming off the geysers, climb volcanoes, paddle along the bluish icebergs and observe the playful puffins. This is a feast for all caravanning enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Eastern Adventure -
Along the Silk Road and through Mainland Southeast Asia
The Silk Road has a legendary reputation. It is true even today that each of the 15,000 km of this old trade route through China, Turkestan, Persia and the Caucasus offers new adventures. In his exciting multi-vision show, Konstantin Abert talks about camels in endless deserts, loaded donkey carts and the hustle and bustle on the markets of the canopied bazaars.
Just as entertaining is the trip through Mainland Southeast Asia, the part of our world known for the friendly smiles of its inhabitants. Konstantin Abert introduces vibrant parts of Mainland Southeast Asia that have been neglected by most caravanning enthusiasts so far. This thrilling dream trip starts off towards Myanmar to visit the golden pagodas, ambles along the Mekong River in Thailand and Laos where we see the ancient Buddha grottoes, and on through the emergent country of Vietnam. Included is also the highlight of mainland Southeast Asia, i.e. the Angkor Wat Temple in Cambodia. The trip's southern end lies in Malaysia.
Discovery Tour
through Australia and New Zealand
In the Dream Trip Cinema, visitors experience the continuation of the historic circumnavigation of the world. At CARAVAN SALON in 2013, the first part featured the great trip through Asia. This year we follow up with the discovery tour of the fifth continent.

Konstantin Abert leads the visitors to remote areas in the Australian outback and shows them bizarre landscapes and fantastic fauna along the 36,000-kilometer coastline.
New Zealand is a special attraction and is often called the "most beautiful part of the world". The Dream Trip Cinema lets the audience experience the collision of forces of nature in a confined space. They just saw the mighty Franz-Joseph Glacier, and already the caravanners are crossing dense forests with ancient trees and finally reach the secluded and wild beaches at the Tasman Sea. Fjords, mountain creeks, volcanoes and geysers - New Zealand offers a cornucopia of beautiful surprises. Drives and hikes through colourful landscapes with distinctive formations and strange and diverse vegetation are indeed a special treat.
