Positive Halfway Review
for CARAVAN SALON 2015 in Duesseldorf (Germany)
Having completed the first half of the CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF (28 August to 6 September 2015), organisers and exhibitors are both pleased: "Up to and including Wednesday we had 115,000 visitors, of whom 15 per cent came from abroad. So we are continuing to be on target, and we can be confident about the next few days," says Stefan Koschke, Director of CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF.
"The new hall distribution has proved its worth, and we can also see that our special show StarterWorld is highly popular with visitors." The same is true for the Caravan Centre, the area occupied by caravans in car park P1.
Until Tuesday evening to the tune of 15,900 vehicles were counted. In total, over 170,000 visitors are currently expected to come to CARAVAN SALON until Sunday.
The good mood in the caravanning sector was confirmed during the first five days of the trade fair. It was also borne out by a survey among exhibiting CIVD members.
62,5 per cent of caravan manufacturers said they had sold more vehicles than this time last year, and 29,2 per cent felt that business had been at the same high level as last year.
The mood is equally buoyant among mobile home manufacturers. 63,3 per cent of this group came to the trade fair with rising sales, and none of the mobile home exhibitors who were asked had sold fewer products than last year, at the halfway review point.
The German recreational vehicle sector made a total of EUR 3.864 billion during the first six months of this year. This was a record value and the equivalent of an 8.9 per cent increase compared with the same period last year."We had already achieved a record high in the first half of 2014, and this year's outstanding sales figures topped last year's record even further. It means that the first half of 2015 was the best six-month period ever, says Hans-Karl Sternberg, CEO of the German Caravanning Industry Association (CIVD). "The German caravanning industry is set to continue along this strong growth path," says Sternberg.
