100 Days Till
the 13th Optatec in Frankfurt
Exhibitor numbers are growing every day and the technology and market leaders will all be on hand once again. Internationalism is increasing, the supplementary programme is ready to go and hall 3.0 at the international Frankfurt Exhibition Centre is almost entirely booked out roughly 100 days before the event opens its doors.
And these are just the preliminary facts and figures for Optatec 2016 (Hall plan, Optatec 2016) , making them all the more impressive!
And thus the globally leading technical event, namely the Optatec international trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems, is once again firming up its reputation as a world-class industry event. Beyond this, Optatec's continuing success - along with that of its exhibitors, collaboration partners and expert visitors - is also making it plainly apparent that not only a trade fair of this calibre is required in order to secure commercial success and not just lip service for the complex issue of optical technologies, but rather a great deal of persistence as well.

Fact is that optical technologies and processes in the form of components, assemblies, sub-systems and complete solutions can be found in many areas of work and private life without the user every taking notice of them. The term laser is also heard again and again within this context, and although this is fundamentally correct, it only partially reflects the spectrum of possible applications for the optical technologies. Expressed in banal terms, the laser scans the CD thus making acoustic and visual reproduction possible, or fine contours are produced in micro-parts manufacturing by means of lasers with highly precise levels of reproducibility.
On the other hand, precisely this laser technology plays an important role in its greatly varying forms ranging from metrology through production technology and medical engineering, right on up to surface finishing and the joining of exotic (hybrid) materials. Further development and optimisation of the optical technologies is one of the keys to further development and optimisation of laser technologies and processes for new and alternative applications.
Consequently, it's no wonder that manufacturers and distributors of laser systems and components for laser technology, as well as increasing numbers of manufacturers of laser-based applications, are demonstrating interest in participating at Optatec 2016 to a greater extent than ever before. And thus the percentage of "applied optical technologies" is on the rise again, making it possible for Optatec to address an even broader range of target groups and resulting in significantly larger numbers of specialised expert visitors.
Within this context it should also be mentioned that the information and communication offerings presented at the 13th Optatec (Hall plan, Optatec 2016) will also reach new dimensions, implemented in close cooperation with time-tested and new collaboration partners: the supplementary programme will be backed by industry and network organisations Spectaris and OptecNet. The Start-Up Challenge will be held with its award-winning competition, the innovations forum will point out the ways and means of future optical technologies, the exhibitor forum will provide information concerning products and companies, and the CEO Roundtable and the "Study Photonics - Training & Research" technology park are targeted at pupils and students, i.e. tomorrow's users.
