formnext Set to Become the Industry Platform
for Modern Product Development and Manufacturing
The official opening of formnext powered by tct 2015 took place today in Frankfurt, where representatives from politics, industry, and the event organizer praised the high quality and enormous potential of formnext. Its goal is to become the leading international exhibition for modern product development and manufacturing. From 17 - 20 November 2015, formnext will showcase, among other things, the global elite in additive manufacturing technologies, with several world premieres, a first-rate conference, and the unique "Audi Toolmaking" exhibit. With such offerings, the international exhibition for additive technologies and tool and form-making is already setting new global standards at its premiere.

With 14,000 square meters of exhibition space, formnext 2015 will demonstrate the full scope of possibilities and technologies facilitated by the integration of additive manufacturing and conventional production. Formnext is an impressive exhibition given the high quality of the 233 exhibitors (main and co-exhibitors as well as publishers), of which 48 percent come from other countries than Germany.
The Hessian Minister of Economics, Tarek Al-Wazir, welcomed the fact that formnext has established a key international platform for additive technologies and modern product development in Frankfurt, which has the potential to become a leading international exhibition for this cutting-edge technology. "The new methods are opening up completely new opportunities for our industry. What has only been conceivable to date is now actually feasible," said the Minister.
Global elite in additive manufacturing processes
Visitors to formnext 2015 will meet the who's who of industrial 3D printing, including exhibitors such as alphacam, 3D Systems, EnvisionTEC, EOS, HP, Keyence, Prodways, Realizer, Renishaw, Ricoh, Sisma, SLM, and Stratasys; Stratasys incidentally will have the largest booth that it has ever had at a European exhibition. Industry luminaries such as Arburg and Trumpf will also be present.
Launch of innovative products
The laser manufacturer Trumpf is set to unveil its new product and technology portfolio for additive metal-component manufacturing at formnext. Meanwhile, the Dutch company Additive Industries will be using formnext to celebrate the world premiere of its 3D printing system for metals, MetalFAB1. Experts in highly specialized tool and form-making, such as Lamy, Käfer, and Ecoparts, as well as CAD/CAM and software specialists, such as Autodesk and IKOffice, will showcase their innovations.
Product development from A to Z
The various industrial areas of product development and manufacturing will be represented at formnext. In the field of tool and form-making, Audi and numerous other innovative companies will demonstrate their expertise to an international audience. Formnext will also feature exhibitors applying a wide range of technologies in realms such as design, materials, standardized component construction, pre- and post-processing, as well as CAx software. Visitors will find the knowledge they need to accelerate their product development and incorporate the latest innovations into their manufacturing process. This will enable them to become more efficient and further reduce their time to market.
"With formnext 2015, we are offering our visitors a five-star exhibition premiere," says Johann Thoma, Chairman of the Management Board for Mesago Messe Frankfurt, the exhibition organizer. "Together with the exhibitors, our partner tct and the entire industry, we have laid a solid foundation to establish formnext as the new annual highlight for modern product development and manufacturing."
A top-class conference
On all four days of the exhibition and with 30 international speakers, formnext powered by tct will highlight cutting-edge technologies and applications in additive technologies and explain how they are influencing product development and manufacturing. Keynotes will be held by leading representatives from Audi, EOS, Stratasys, and more.
Innovative showcases
Formnext will also feature three special exhibits. In a special show called "Audi Toolmaking," Audi will offer exclusive insights into product development in the automotive industry. The importance of choosing the right basic materials for a component will be demonstrated in a special show called "From Basic Material to Component". It will also demonstrate the use of materials for both conventional production (such as injection molding) and additive manufacturing processes. From 17 - 19 November 2015, the formnext Design Dialogue will address design-related topics in additive manufacturing technologies and tool and form-making. In brief presentations, experts will discuss the practical opportunities and challenges that the realm of design faces in these innovative areas.
